2. CEMLA Database. Sources for this database include (i) ship manifests
1882-1887 transcribed by immigration officers, (ii) passenger lists 1888-1922,
and (iii) standard immigration forms 1923-1929. All these records are
contained in the files of 'Dirección General de Inmigración' in Buenos
Aires, Argentina. Three different segments were used from CEMLA Database: a.
CEMLA I: passenger list of the City of Dresden (arrived in Buenos Aires 15
February 1889), which was received in paper format, and transcribed to the
database. Includes page numbers of the transcribed paper list (1,772 records).
b. CEMLA II: passengers arrived in Buenos Aires 1882-1929, who declared Irish
nationality. Includes record numbers of the original list (1,155 records). c.
CEMLA III: passengers arrived in Buenos Aires 1882-1929, who declared English
nationality and were born in Ireland. Includes record numbers of the original
list (103 records).
